Ah, Pimbert, what a very touching yet funny link-(l)a(p)sus you just made... Or maybe spiegel.de is playing tricks on me (most likely on your behalf): Indeed i clicked on the link to discover the review of the psp gps add-on (which by the way just failed to get me lost today, woohoo), only to see a video about the 9-inch eee pc... How ironical when i come to think that by now you're most likely ready to kill or worse to have one instead of your current, minimal-display version. It's a bit sad, actually...
Anyway, good thing it wasn't Rick Ashley. This time it should work, though.
I was indeed watching EEE reviews and I am really getting depressed by the amount of choice now. 9 inch with celeron and no battery life (they didn't downclock the CPU on it), or 9 inch with the atom but a hundred euro more, and with a crappy looking shiny plastic case. Or wait for the 10 inch version? Or just switch altogether for the acer or msi wind, both with linux.
I am therefore STILL very happy with my EEE, because it has the 5200 mAh battery instead of the 4400 they deliver now to Germany (other countries do get the 5200, it seems).
[I feel like a complaining Apple fan at this point.]
Or maybe I just wait until a nice tablet version comes out (like the gigabyte one, but then without vista and gazillion hour boot time).
So while waiting how all this condenses, my EEE and me are going along well. After I dropped it on the 'laminat' floor some weeks ago the k-key stopped working every now and then, but since then I massaged it and it recovered and is doing well again. Now to see if the right speaker fixes itself as well and stops making white noise all the time.
I'm afraid Pimbert forgot the "Useless review" tag on this one... It didn't really provide any decent a posteriori excuse for buying that thing, i must say. It actually works quite well indeed; that is, provided you're ready to delay your departure for 5 minutes, waiting for the stupid satellites to be found...
